The Pledge of Darkness
Submitted by Shadowagony on February 25, 2010 - 2:49pm. PoetryTo the darkness I pledge my soul,
The great darkness which completes me,
and makes me whole,
The darkness,
Primal essence of great destruction and horror,
Bearer of the macabre and the obscure,
I pledge myself to you forever more,
Master of nightmares and shadows,
Hold me tightly in your grasp,
Fill my heart up completely,
With that which makes men gasp,
Darkness,
My leader and my lord,
It is you who I adore,
Only you understand my pains and my sorrows,
You are the key to my tommorrow,
You never judge me,
and you never quarrel,
Your loyalty is for keeps,
Never borrowed,
When I fall,
You are there to catch me,
When I hurt,
You are there to heal me,
When I am lost,
You reveal the way,
When my enemies attack,
You make them pay,
Darkness oh darkness,
I am forever loyal to you,
The End Of The World
Submitted by Shadowagony on October 9, 2007 - 8:16pm. WritingTake a long look, my child,
Take a look at this town,
See how vibrant it is,
With its easy-going citizenry,
Look at the woman there,
With long, golden hair,
In the blue jeans, white shirt, and flip flops,
Putting the laundry out to dry,
Singing a beautiful tune,
And dancing joyously,
As cars drive by,
Look at that large gathering over there,
At the outdoor restaurant,
Laughing and talking,
Darkness, Light and The Broken Soul
Submitted by Shadowagony on August 9, 2007 - 4:38pm. WritingWe all start out well enough, I suppose. Naive, and allegedly innocent. Beautiful dreams and endless possibilities lie stretched out before us, and the world is a wonderful place. Everybody cares about us and loves us because we are children and we are vulnerable. We only care about making friends and having a good time. We're pretty bright, and our curiosity is encouraged, for the most part. We have potential, and we are open to life's myriad experiences. We grow older and accomplish some pretty cool things, and the adults in our lives support us and tell us how we are going to be something in this world. We are told to do the right thing and follow the light, then everything will be okay and we will have a place in paradise. Being young and impressionable, we believe this and at least attempt to do it.
Doom
Submitted by Shadowagony on May 2, 2007 - 5:18pm. WritingYou are jaded and confused. Nothing has worked out the way that you thought that it would. Everything that they have taught you is nothing but a lie. You are all alone, and everybody is viciously assaulting you. You are the pariah, the person that everybody points out to their own children when they want to show them what an abomination is. You never meant any harm. You only wanted to do things right and not fuck anything or anybody up.
The Watchers
Submitted by Shadowagony on May 1, 2007 - 4:26pm. Prose (non-fiction)Everybody has seen them before. You know, when you are surfing the internet, reading a book, or watching television. You see them moving out of the corner of your eyes. They are like shadows, and they are moving around a lot until you look up to see what is going on. Then there is nothing but an eery silence. You know that you have seen something. It registered in your mind, and it was so vivid that it caused you to instinctively stop what you were doing and take notice. We see nothing when we look up, so we go back to doing what we were originally doing. Then we see them again, only this time it is more vivid because we are more alert to our surroundings. When we see them this time, we can actually make out a distinctively human shape moving through the room and seemingly melting into nothingness. Now it has really gotten our attention and we can't go back to doing what we were doing. Something is there and we know it. We seen it moving. Dark and wispy, like a shadow, but moving in three dimensional space. Shaken, we get up and go into another room, not knowing if our imagination is going wild or if something more sinister is going on. However, the truth is that we have seen something, and our eyes are not playing tricks on us. We saw it, it was there, and it even registered in our minds.
